The Producer of The Stoning of Soraya M on EWTN
Both Leticia and myself (Christine) have posted on The Stoning of Soraya M, and the Producer, Steven McEveety, will be on The World Over on EWTN tomorrow, Friday 6/26, at 8:00 PM EST.
Thanks for posting this, Steve McVeety has a heart of gold, the minute he closed the script, he knew that he had to produce this film. The timing is fortuitous, and Soraya M may save the lives of her countrywomen.
The Stoning of Soraya M so affected me I had to leave the theater, returning after I had collected myself and the very long stoning scene was over. The actresses who play Soraya and her aunt are simply amazing! There are a lot of female parts in the movie, and they all seemed SO well done. The mayor was great. The good man with the simple child - wasn't he terrific? The husband of Soraya - so casually brutal as he calculates his wife's demise. Jim Caviezel as the reporter, the only actor familiar to me, was completely understated - I wish he would have had more to do and say in the movie, but that's OK. God willing, I really hope this movie does decrease the stoning practices of the world. I found myself crying for Soraya -- and all the others who are unknown -- for at least a week afterward.
I am so excited, Jean Marie! Great job! God bless! Donna-Marie Cooper O'Boyle

Movie Time!!! Break out the popcorn and get ready to check out this outstanding, much-needed resource for Catholic families who have been more than a little chagrined by the recent media review efforts of the USCCB office. In a commendable showing of creative, constructive outrage, a group of faithful Catholic bloggers have banded together to create the Catholic Media Review. Check it out! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ After reading this informative review of the film Juno I’d say this site’s off to a splendid start, and it will become a “first-stop” reference when looking for information on what’s out there in the world of media, particularly if you’re trying to get a Christian perspective on things.
