When I interviewed Eduardo in August 2009, he said he was looking forward to working on a film about the brave priests in Mexico during the 1920's, called Cristeros, who became martyrs for the Faith.
He is now in Mexico, with Eva Longoria Parker,Peter O'Toole, and Andy Garcia filming "Cristiada".
You can follow the progress of the film, at the film's blog here.

The Catholicism Project
Anyone who reads about the Catholic Church in the mainstream media knows that we are in serious need of a public relations expert. God knows this, and He has a plan. Enter Fr Robert Barron, professor at Mundelein Seminary and preacher from Word on Fire Ministries. I recently attended a childrens' birthday party where the enthusiastic hostess insisted her guests watch his DVD Seven Deadly Sins in the midst of hyped up kids on cake. I was riveted. Fr Baron is that good. See his video review of Grand Torino which I posted here.
Now, add film from locations around the world, including the Holy Land, and The Catholicism Project is looking truly extraordinary.
For this world-spanning, all-encompassing series, Father Barron is telling the story not chronologically but in essential themes. Everything works toward his second equally important goal: “to evangelize the culture using the riches of the Church. We weave in a lot for artwork because the greatest artwork in the Western world is about Christianity.”
Pope John Paul II was a big influence on him. Father Barron explains that “after the [Second Vatican] Council there was bad formation in Catholicism. Frankly, my generation has been taught a watered-down Catholicism.”
Consequently, he wants to re-educate and reintroduce people to the faith intellectually and visually, and then to reach out beyond the Catholic world and evangelize the culture.

Year One - Another Anti-Bible Film Coming to a Theatre Near You
“Year One is a biblical comedy. It’s about the old testament. I’m just a dude wandering through biblical times. I’m not a famous character that you would have heard of before. Me and Michael Cera are just sort of wandering through, and you get to see all these old stories from the Torah, told through Agnostic, sort of, eyes.” - Jack BlackThe Old Testament through the eyes of an agnostic (read secularist) - yeah, there's a huge need for that. Since they'll be thumbing through the Old Testament looking for punchlines, maybe they'll come across this little ditty:
"How long will you simple ones love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?" - Proverbs 1:22*According to /Film.com the script, penned by Ramis and The Office writers Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg was completed prior to the writer's strike. This means the film will head into production without rewrites. While there is some talent on the project, working without rewrites may make this thing worse than it already is.
Given that Ramis has referred to himself has being "Buddhish". I'm not sure if he's being non-committal or if he's crossing Buddhism and Judaism - either way it's screwy. Given that he's at the helm, It is highly unlikely this will have any reverence for The Word.
The film is slated for release in June of 2009.
* The word "simple" here indicates a wicked or morally confused person - not a moron...although those things usually go hand in hand.
